• I believe in education. I believe in sharing knowledge
with students in their different stages of readiness to learn. I believe a student can
be motivated to learn. I believe a student will listen and stay focused if his attention has been captured. I believe a student will respond to the learning process in an environment where the student is the reason the
knowledge is brought forth for sharing. I believe students want to learn.
• One
of my foremost goals in life is to "teach what I know and to lead where I go". I want to impart knowledge. I want
to give knowledge. I want to be understood when I am sharing knowledge. I want people
to learn from me. I want my learners to leave me feeling the trade and giving back to
the world what they have been taught by me. I want to educate. I want to be an effective
educator.
I believe that learning takes place when there are open channels of
communication between two entities. Because no two people process information the sane,
it stands to reason that no two people will learn by the same method. Stimulation of the desire
to learn comes often from within but it can sooth the learner from the exterior as well. Talking between the two entities,
hands on with demonstration between the two entities, and a devout interest from the
teacher to impart and share knowledge is essential. Learning is a transfer of information.
• The teacher is a trainer, a mentor an educator and an instructor. This position
must understand under all circumstances that a good command of the subject matter is
essential to the successful transfer of information. The teacher captivates the audience
with vivid control of destinies yet to be discovered, worlds yet to be traveled and stories yet to be told. I can’t
teach what I don’t know and I can’t lead where I don’t go.

I am proud to be a teacher. When I teach, I am a learner. I am in an honorable profession. I choose books and activities to
share with my students based on a love of the art of teaching. I want my students to
know of the travels of a good book, the experiences of critical thinking and the result
of seeing these forces come together. My students will be given an opportunity to think
critically through becoming involved with the news media as they question decisions made by leaders of the world. My students will be captured by the world but will hold it hostage while they examine cause and effect
of an ever changing profession. It is here that learning will take place. This is education.
